Creative Confidence: Arts Awards at HEAH

HEAH: Creative Confidence

Empowering Disengaged and Vulnerable Young People (Ages 8–16)

HEAH: Open Routes CIC delivers a trauma-informed, part-time education programme tailored for learners who are disengaged from mainstream school, have SEND needs, or require a personalised, creative pathway back into learning.

Our Creative Confidence model combines project-based learning, essential core skills, and pastoral coaching to provide a flexible, responsive alternative to traditional education.

The Creative Confidence Model

At HEAH, we believe confidence is the cornerstone of learning. Through collaborative creative projects, learners:

  • Develop resilience, self-esteem, and effective communication skills
  • Enhance Functional English and Maths via meaningful, real-world activities
  • Progress towards nationally recognised Arts Award qualifications

Sessions are thoughtfully structured, relationship-driven, and grounded in a trauma-informed approach that prioritises each learner’s emotional well-being.

Why Choose HEAH?

  • Small, supportive groups built on trust and respect
  • A strong emphasis on emotional safety and learner engagement
  • Integrated Functional Skills development in every project
  • An Arts Award approved centre
  • AQA Unit Award Scheme
  • Robust safeguarding policies, with DBS-checked staff and comprehensive attendance monitoring
  • Currently accepting referrals from schools and local authority commissioning teams
