HEAH Foundations Pathway

Functional Skills Tutoring

HEAH Foundations Pathway

Empowering learners through essential English & Maths skills in a therapeutic, flexible environment.

The HEAH Foundations Pathway is our dedicated Functional Skills strand, offering structured and supportive tuition in English and Maths — from Entry Level to Level 2 — tailored for home-educated learners aged 11 and over.

We believe that building strong foundations in core subjects should never come at the cost of well-being. That’s why our approach is trauma-aware, relationship-based, and paced according to each learner’s confidence, capacity, and goals.

Who is it for?

  • Home-educated young people aged 11+
  • Learners preparing for Functional Skills qualifications
  • Young people who need a gentle reintroduction to academic learning
  • Students not ready for or not suited to GCSE routes
  • Families looking for real-world, life-ready English and Maths
  • Learners who thrive in small groups or one-to-one therapeutic settings

What’s included?

One-to-One Tuition (£350 per term)

  • Individualised support based on ability and goals
  • Ideal for learners with additional needs, anxiety, or learning gaps
  • Can focus on either English, Maths, or both
  • Flexible scheduling and pace
  • Therapeutic coaching embedded into each session

Optional Extras

  • Exam preparation and mock assessments
  • Functional Skills exam entry support via trusted partners
  • Confidence coaching or mentoring add-ons

Our Approach

The HEAH Foundations Pathway is about more than just passing an exam — it’s about helping young people gain confidence in their abilities, see the relevance of learning, and feel supported every step of the way.

We work at the learner’s pace, incorporating movement, visuals, and real-life applications wherever possible. Our tutors are trained to support learners with additional needs, including anxiety, low self-esteem, or past school trauma.
